A place we found
before we were looking.
It began on a rugby weekend. A young couple from our family came from Norwich for the roar of Twickenham and a little time away. The town was alive with flags, conversation and that unmistakable feeling of strangers becoming friends for an afternoon.
A walk through York House Gardens stayed with them: children around the fountain, grandparents on benches and families enjoying the river without needing an occasion. Twickenham began to feel like somewhere more lasting than a weekend away.
They found Indian food, but not the pure vegetarian cooking they recognised from their own family kitchen: honest food, made without shortcuts and carrying the same care with which our family has always cooked.
In 2024, that remembered afternoon became our home at 27 York Street. Since then, a warm community has grown around our tables: regular guests, local families, neighbours, rugby supporters and visitors who have made Namaste Village part of their own Twickenham traditions.
Twickenham is now part of our family story. From across Twickenham, Richmond and the wider borough, the people who return to our tables continue to shape the home we have lovingly nurtured.
