Rasoda means kitchen in Gujarati. For Chef Urmila, it is where care becomes a meal, and recipes become memories.
Vegetarian food has a cherished place in Indian home cooking, with many dishes naturally plant-based. Yet the everyday simplicity of that food can be lost behind long restaurant menus and unfamiliar spice names.
Our school is an extension of Chef Urmila’s vision: to help more people prepare simple Indian vegetarian and plant-based meals at home. We open the spice tin, explain what each ingredient brings and make the unfamiliar feel wonderfully familiar.
Led by the Namaste Village chefs, our Indian cookery lessons welcome first-time cooks and curious home cooks alike. Take what you learn back to your own kitchen, share it with family and friends, and let the food and culture travel a little further.
