INDIAN ROOTS. A WARM WELCOME.
THE NAMASTE BAZAAR STORY

A small shelf. A much larger purpose.

Namaste Bazaar did not begin as a superstore. It began inside our restaurants, with glass jars of the same whole spices and freshly ground blends used in our family cooking and Namaste Village kitchens. What followed was a journey shaped by trust, necessity and community.

SHARING WHAT WE TRUSTED

It began with ingredients from our own kitchens.

Before Namaste Bazaar had aisles, baskets or a shop of its own, it was a small section within the restaurant. On its shelves sat the whole Indian spices and in-house spice blends that we used ourselves, both in our family cooking and in the Namaste Village kitchens.

Guests and visitors to our cookery classes would stop to look at the glass jars, drawn by their colours, aromas and familiarity. Offering those ingredients was never simply about selling spices. It was a way of sharing something we genuinely trusted and helping people carry the flavours of our kitchens into their own homes.

As Namaste Village grew, small Bazaar displays appeared in our restaurants. Each shelf carried the same simple promise: if it was good enough for our kitchens, we were proud to share it with yours.

The idea was small, but the meaning behind it was already much bigger.
A TURNING POINT

During COVID, the shelf became a lifeline.

When COVID brought isolation and uncertainty, the needs around us changed almost overnight. People needed more than spices. They needed groceries, fresh produce and a trusted way to receive everyday essentials while they were unable to shop as they normally would.

Alongside Namaste Village’s emergency response through Dosa on the Wall, which helped provide free meals, Namaste Bazaar extended its reach. Groceries and fresh produce were made available to people who were isolating and to others in the community who needed support.

That period transformed our understanding of what Bazaar could be. Sharing what we used in our kitchens had grown into helping people access the food they needed at home, with the same care and trust that had shaped the first shelf.

It was no longer only about what we could place on a shelf. It was about how we could be useful.

WHAT GUIDES THE BAZAAR

Quality and trust remain at the heart of it.

Today, Namaste Bazaar brings together trusted brands and products from India, alongside our own growing range. Everything is chosen around what you genuinely need for your home or business, with quality, dependability and trust guiding every decision.

The range has grown far beyond the original restaurant shelf, but the principle behind it remains unchanged: sharing products we can stand behind and making the ingredients you rely on easier to find.
